Google Docs: The Rhyming Word Quiz
Like Google Docs Spreadsheets, Google Docs Forms is another free and collaborative program that is great for teachers. One way in which to use Google Docs Forms is as an assessment tool. Google Forms can be used for tests, quizzes, reflections, online surveys, and online polls.
Using Google Docs Forms in conjunction with a free Google script, Flubaroo, I developed a self -grading quiz for the classroom that supports first grade rhyming words. First, I developed an original online quiz using Google Docs Spreadsheets. This quiz was developed for First grade students to help learn and practice rhyming words. It included eight questions demonstrating four different question formats (i.e. multiple choice, check boxes, drop down lists, and fill in the blank). Once that was created, I developed an answer key and gathered information by taking the quiz three times as three different students. After all four entries were done, I downloaded and installed Flubaroo from the Google Docs Spreadsheets Script Gallery and transformed the online quiz to a self-grading quiz.
